Employment Opportunity
The Boone Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST position. This employee performs intermediate skilled clerical work requiring a qualified typist and does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision. Supervision may be exercised over subordinate personnel.
Education & Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by course work in typing or office management and considerable experience in office assistance and administrative work. Experience in local government and/or law enforcement is preferred.
Special Requirement: Must complete the typing and spelling tests offered at the NC Employment Security Commission and be very proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Salary: Grade 7-- $27,744 or DOE. Employee will serve a six-month probation.
Special Note: All offers of employment are subject to successful completion of a controlled substance screening as well as a medical examination. Applicants will also undergo a thorough background investigation.
