WZJS Bluegrass Giveaway Broadcast Monday

Local
musician, concert promoter and bluegrass disc jockey Ronnie
Moretz certainly has his hands full these days. His Lost
Ridge Productions company has presented the past two Boone
Bluegrass Festival and will also bring bluegrass impresario
Ricky Skaggs to the Holmes Convocation Center in Boone
this coming October.

Ridge Productions also produces Moretzs weekly bluegrass
show, Catgut n Jugs, on radio station WZJS
100.7 FM each Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Catgut n
Jugs will celebrate its 200th broadcast on Monday, December
14th with a special show that will include live interviews
with bluegrass stars and plenty of giveaways.
Were
going to have live phone interviews with Rhonda Vincent,
Marty Raybon and Doyle Lawson, said Moretz. Well
also have in the studio interviews with local bluegrass
acts Amantha Mill and Southern Accent.
Catgut
n Jugs, now in its fourth year, specializes
in the music of the hottest current acts in the bluegrass
and Americana genres. Moretz has interviewed everyone
from Ricky Skaggs to Dan Tyminski on the show and devotes
a good portion of the broadcast to rising bluegrass stars
in the High Country. The show started as a one-hour broadcast
each Saturday and expanded to a two-hour show each Monday.
The
on-air giveaways this Monday will include many new bluegrass
released in the past year. Listeners can call to win locally
