Sugar Mountain Resort Hosts The Second Annual Sugarfest

SugarFest kick starts the winter season with a weekend of pure fun! Sponsored by the Village of Sugar Mountain Tourism Development Authority (TDA) and hosted by Sugar Mountain Resort, SugarFest .04 will be held December 4th and 5th, 2004.

The 2 day festival is packed with a long list of winter activities. Both Saturday and Sunday the latest ski & snowboard equipment from just about every manufacturer displayed in store showrooms will be available for demo. While you.re at Sugar take the opportunity to inquire about the Kid.s Safety Awareness Poster Contest: www.skisugar.com/poster. Each year the National Ski Areas Association sponsors the contest in an effort to promote ski and snowboard safety awareness. Prizes are awarded to the top 3 finalists. And all submitted posters are entered in the National contest.

On Saturday check out the latest fashions from The North Face, Spyder, Columbia, Burton, Helly Hanson, Bogner and many more. The fashion show is presented by the area.s local ski and snowboard shops. Saturday evening at 5:45 be sure to bring the whole family to watch an awesome fireworks display. After a hard day of skiing and snowboarding there.s nothing better than good food, warm drinks, and fun music. From Charlotte, N.C., DJ Mike.s Entertainment will keep you dancing. Be sure to hold on to your lift ticket because you might just get some cool schwag! Don.t miss the Edge of the World/Burton Rail Jam Expression Session on Sunday.

Watch some of the area.s best snowboarders pull off some of their best tricks. Marvel as the area.s most talented ice sculptors go head to head in an ice sculpting contest. Watch before your eyes as blocks of ice become works of art. A cash purse of $650 will be awarded to the top 3 sculptures.
