MerleFest Checklist Things to Bring; Things to Leave at Home Here’s a quick checklist to help you figure out what to bring with you to MerleFest. Just remember, at this time of year, the temperature in Wilkesboro can dip into the forties at night and soar past eighty during the day—so be prepared to change your outfit a few times. If you have to wait in line to have your backpack or cooler checked, remember these people doing the checking are volunteers who are doing the best they can. Be patient and cheerful. Things to Bring · blanket and/or lawn chair · sunscreen, sunglasses, hat with brim · sweater or jacket for after sunset · cash & credit cards for food & souvenirs · comfortable shoes (you’ll do some walking) · camera · pen or pencil to make notes in schedule · Sandwiches or snacks (it’s a long day) · Some rain gear other than umbrellas · A towel or two Things Not to Bring · glass containers · alcoholic beverages · pets · recording devices
