Ashe County Home Builders Will Discuss Hurricane Rebuilding Efforts

On Thursday, Sept. 22nd, the Ashe County Home Builders Association will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Ashe Services for Aging to discuss sending a team to either Mississippi or Louisiana to help “rebuild.” The public is encouraged to attend.

The hope is that a team of qualified carpenters and carpenter’s helpers can be put together that will go to the hurricane devastated areas and spend one week working on a yet-to-be-determined project. The Ashe County Homebuilders intend to work with Samaritan’s Purse and other nonprofit agencies to determine where the need is the greatest and how best to address it.

Any agency, church or individual that is interested in partnering with the Ashe County Home Builders Association is invited to attend this special meeting. Many things will be needed to outfit the building team that will be sent including volunteers to go, transportation, building materials, food, monetary contributions, etc.

For more information or to offer assistance, call the Association President Darrel Hamilton at 982-4845 or visit www.ashehomebuilders.com
