Morris Family, Forget-Me-Nots & Others
Play Celtic Concert

Its not too early to choose your green shirt, skirt,
sweater or tie. St. Paddys Day is just around the
corner. To commemorate the occasion, Mountainhome Music
will host its annual St. Patricks Day Celebration
with plenty of jigs, reels, hornpipes, and beautiful Irish
harp tunes.
Providing the music will be the Morris Family, Steve Lewis,
Scott Freeman, the Forget-Me-Nots, and Joe Shannon.
The Morris Family has been playing Irish and American
music together for 14 years. This five-piece family ensemble
features Jessica Morris on fiddle, flute and penny whistle,
older brother Jacob on cello and guitar, and oldest bother
Joshua on fiddle, mandolin, and guitar. Father Aaron plays
guitar, and mother Debbie also plays fiddle. Their most
recent CD, The Morris Family, features a blend of Celtic
and classical music.
Steve Lewis and Scott Freeman are Mountainhome Music regulars.
Steve Lewis is a former National Banjo Champion and Merlefest
Guitar Champion, and Scott Freeman was recently took first
place in mandolin at the Wayne Henderson Festival in Rugby,
Virginia. Joe Shannon plays hammer dulcimer, concertina,
and harmonica and is host of Mountainhome Music.
The Forget-Me-Nots, a trio of young fiddlers, will open
the show. They feature Willa and Ledah Finck and Maura
Shawn Scanlin. Willa and Ledahs dad, David, plays
guitar in the band.
The concert will be at The Blowing Rock School Auditorium
(a.k.a., the Blowing Rock Stage Company) on Sunset Drive
in downtown Blowing Rock.
The concert is scheduled for St. Patricks Day, Friday,
March 17th and the starting time is 8:00 p.m.
Tickets are $12.50 in advance and $15.00 at the door.
Tickets for children are $5:00. Tickets may be purchased

Beech Mountain, and at Blue Moon Guitars in West Jefferson.
Free green punch and cookies will be given away at intermission
as long as supplies are available.

Trails, a project of the North Carolina Arts Council.
