Biodiesel Project Hosts Open House April 8

The Collaborative Biodiesel Project at Appalachian State University will host an open house Saturday, April 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m.

The public is invited to the event, which includes refreshments and music. The Collaborative Biodiesel Project is located near the university’s physical plant on Dale Street, off State Farm Road.

Appalachian’s Collaborative Biodiesel Project is designed by students and is partially funded by the EPA P3 Award: Student Design Competition for Sustainability.

The focus of the project is to create a sustainable, closed loop biodiesel process that can be easily replicated by others wanting to create an alternative fuel. The biodiesel fuel the system produces can be used in any diesel engine.
