The 3rd Annual Blue Ridge Celtic Festival takes place Saturday, May 20th at Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock. The festival runs from 10 am to 6 pm, followed by the Headliner Concert from 7 pm to 10 pm along the shores of Chetola Lake. The Headliner Concert features acclaimed Celtic Bands Enter the Haggis and Henri’s Notions. In addition to the evening concert, both bands will also perform during the daytime festival along with Celtic Knot, Bean Sidhe, and Classic Celtic.

Enjoy a delicious variety of food including Giant Turkey Legs, Shepherd’s Pie, Grilled Corn on the Cob, Barbecue “Hawg Wings, ”a variety of Celtic Beers and drink and plenty of snacks for the kids. The Blue Ridge Celtic Festival features a variety of artisans and vendors, falconry demonstrations, historic re-enactments, kid’s activities, Celtic Folk Dancing, Scottish Country Dancing and much more. St. Andrew’s Guilde will be back this year with close to 30 cast players re-creating the Scottish Court of Mary, Queen of Scots. Be knighted into the honorable company of St. Andrew, learn brewing and distillery techniques, become familiar with the favorite pastimes of the 16th Century tavern, visit the Armory at the site of Sidney’s Arms and partake in customs that were prevalent in the Court of Mary Queen of Scots.

Overnight Celtic Festival packages at Chetola Resort are value priced from May 19-21, 2006. Two night Festival Packages begin at just $327 in Chetola Lodge, including breakfast for two, a $25 gift certificate to Tanger Outlets and two admission tickets to either the day festival or evening concert. Condominium packages begin at $379 and include two admission tickets to the day festival or evening concert and a $25 gift certificate to Tanger Outlets.
