Shooting Stars Shine

Some of Watauga County’s most talented kids took the stage Friday for Shooting Stars, an annual showcase that helps raise money for the Watauga Education Foundation (WEF). One of the WEF’s largest fundraisers each year, Shooting Stars usually brings in about $15,000 for the education foundation.

During their dress rehearsal Thursday, our “roving camera queen,” Marie Freeman, captured several examples of such talent on film — well, on disk anyway.

Jessica Davis and Quinn Clemo of Green Valley and Hardin Park Elementary schools perform a vocal and dance number to “Sold at the Grundy County Auction.”

Kaitlin Maria Felts of Blowing Rock sings “Favorite Things.”

Justin Isaacs of Bethel picks a tune on his guitar called — appropriately — “Pickin and Grinnin.”
