Fall Festival Of The Frescoes Coming In October

Church of the Frescoes

If you haven’t experienced October in Ashe County, you’ve missed a special treat. If you’ve missed being in Ashe County for the Fall Festival of the Frescoes then you missed a very special treat. The remedy? Come visit Ashe County and the Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 14th in Glendale Springs. The Parish of the Holy Communion will present their traditional country fair on the grounds of the Mission House across the street from Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (site of the Ben Long ‘Last Supper fresco). The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ample areas for parking and picnicking are available adjacent to the fair grounds.

The church booths will include: the Fresco Café where lunch refreshments can be found (including the delicious grilled to order barbecued chicken that was such a huge success last year); Granny’s Attic, full of treasures you may have been seeking at yard sales; the Bake Sale booth with scrumptious goodies prepared by the ladies of the parish; the Plant Sale booth; and the Silent Auction booth, displaying prized objects you might obtain at bargain prices. Tickets for the beautiful queen size quilt displaying hand cross stitched butterflies created by ECW members will also be available. Many outside vendor booths with a broad selection of fine arts and crafts will be on site as well. There will be music and entertainment, and the Mission House gift shop will also be open for shopping.

It is not too early to mark your calendar and to plan October 14th for a day in the colorful fall mountains at the Festival of the Frescoes. More information is available by calling the Mission House at 336-982-3076.
