Childrens Playhouse Now Accepting Items
for Fall Sale, Oct. 26-27
Volunteers for The Childrens Playhouse are hard at work
organizing their annual fall sale, which will be held October
26th and 27th at the National Guard Armory in Boone. This
year it will be bigger and better than ever, says Playhouse
staff member Kay Philipp, We will we have everything families
love: two days of quality consignment and bargain rummage sale,
plus a Saturday packed with fun kids activities!
Volunteer Leigh Reid urges moms to start sorting and tagging for
the Playhouse sale. Consigners get 60% at the sale,
she explains, and the other 40% is a tax-deductible donation
to The Childrens Playhouse. Consigners can visit the
Playhouse website www.goPlayhouse.org for tagging guidelines and
registration form
or request one by emailing Kathy@goPlayhouse.org.
Reid stresses that this will be a great opportunity for families
to get good deals on quality clothes, furniture, and toys just
in time for the holidays, for area parents to make money for items
they no long need, and for The Childrens Playhousethe
High Countrys only nonprofit indoor play space for familiesto
get much needed financial support. Its a win all around!
Furniture, household items, and maternity, infant, toddler through
teens clothes are accepted. Organizer Sullivan says, Basically
anything family oriented in very good to excellent condition will
be there. Consigners tag their items per instructions, drop
them off, and then the items are sold at this huge sale.
We also know that some people would rather not bother tagging
their items; they just want to de-clutter and help The Playhouse,
says Reid, So they can drop off their donations now at The
Playhouse and volunteers will sort and price and the Playhouse
will get the proceeds. Donations are accepted at The Playhouse
whenever the museum is open. Consignments will be accepted during
designated time at the Armory the week of the sale. For more information,
call 828-263-0011.
The sale will last two days with a $5 Early Bird Sale from 8:30-1:00
Friday, October 26. Saturday will be a free admission and will
include a not-too-scary Halloween celebration for kids, airwalk,
breakfast and lunch, costume contest, raffles, bargain bags, and
much more. Playhouse director Kathy Parham notes, Family-oriented
vendors are invited to rent booths on Saturday for $25. This is
a great opportunity to get some one-of-kind Christmas presents.
