The spring music festival season is right around the corner
and some of the biggest events are already announcing their lineups.
One of the biggest such festivals is the LEAF, or Lake Eden Arts
Festival, held twice a year at Camp Rockmont near Black Mountain,
North Carolina.
This springs Lake Eden Arts Festival is scheduled for Friday
through Sunday, May 9-11. The outdoor music festival will feature
performances by Nanci Griffith, Arrested Development, Habib Koite,
David Wilcox, Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys, Buille-Celtic,
Corey Harris & the 5x5 Band, Contra with the Great Bear Trio,
Latter Day Lizards, Cis Hinkle, Robert Cromartie, Bambu Station
of St. Croix, Steep Canyon Rangers, Nathan and the Zydeco Cha-Chas,
Rahim Al Haj of Iraq, Vincent Nsengiyumva of Rwanda, Ashley Chambliss,
Agent 23: Skidoo, the University of North Florida Brass Ensemble,
Captain Josh, Carey Fridley, Imhotep, Mizilca, Tribalesque, Akira
Satake, Kumar, Zulu Connection, and Darrell Rose.
Organizers have stated that many more musicians will be announced
soon.
The festival will also feature poets Nave, Minton Sparks, and
others.
Phil Jamison, Mirth Remedy and others will host the LEAF Fiddle
Contest. The event will also feature kids entertainment.
Other events at the LEAF include a juried arts and crafts fair,
a healing arts fair, camping, canoeing, dancing, open poetry events,
culinary arts and much more.
