Ashe County Farmers Market to hold 2008 Expo
On Saturday, March 15, 2008, the Ashe County Farmers' Market
will hold its annual Expo at Family Central
 |
from 8 AM - 4 PM.
Vendors wishing to sell at the market during the 2008 season
are strongly encouraged to come by the Expo and register. The
registration fee for the 2008 season is $20.00 per vendor.
As in past years, the Expo will be a perfect opportunity to
gather with other vendors, review the policies and procedures
by which the Market will operate in the coming year and jury-in
new craft items that vendors may wish to add to their offerings.
Arts and crafts items that were approved in 2007 will still
be eligible for sale at the Market throughout the 2008 season.
However, any new and/or different items from existing craft
vendors or all items from new craft vendors will need to be
reviewed by jury at the March 15th Expo or at the second chance
April 26th jury date and vendors must submit an example of each
type of craft, not previously approved, at one of the jury events.
For the first time this year, the Expo will also include the
Ashe County Seed Swap and Growers' school in its schedule. This
means that when you come out to join the Expo, you will also
have a chance to participate in educational workshops on growing
in the High Country. The workshops and Seed Swap are free and
open to the public.
