Beer Tasting in Boone, Beer Dinner
in Blowing Rock
By Jeff Eason
For years it was assumed that beer drinkers could never
elevate the status of their brew to the level of wines. Over
the past few decades, however, beer brewing and beer drinking
have gained respect in the eyes, and in the taste buds, of a
great number of discriminating drinkers.
The 1st Annual High Country Beer Fest will be held on Saturday,
November 1. The Beer Fest will consist of two separate events:
a beer tasting from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Broyhill Inn and Conference
Center in Boone, and a beer dinner pairing fine cuisine with
hand-crafted beers from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Meadowbrook Inn
in Blowing Rock.
