If you have ever watched a parade, listened to a concert,
or hunted Easter Eggs on the Jones House Community Center lawn;
if you have ever come to a party, reception, or a meeting in the
historic house; if you have ever walked through the Watauga Arts
Council galleries in the house or enjoyed seeing the lavish decorations
during the holidays; or if you have just admired the beautiful
white house on the knoll from the sidewalk, the Jones House has
had an impact on you, and your memories and views are welcomed
at this event, a Jones House spokesperson said.
Watauga County Sheriff L.D. Hagaman, town manager when the house
was renovated and occupied by the town 20 years ago, will moderate
a forum discussion with a panel comprised of people who have different
perspectives of how the house is important to them: Marg McKinney,
representing Women in Black; Dorothy Sage, representing People
for Peace, Crys Matthews, a performer at the Jones House on several
occasions, Watauga Arts Council staff member Mark Freed, and Watauga
Arts Council board member and gallery representative John Bond
are some of the forum participants.
This free event is catered by Reids Catering and hosted
by Jones House board members Carolyn Travis and Larry Keeter.
The event is funded by the town of Boone.
