From Bohemia to Boone

One of New York’s most famous 20th century artists, the late Andy Warhol, was given a High Country welcome Friday night when the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts officially opened the new exhibit Andy Warhol: A Photographic Legacy. The bulk of the exhibit consists of original photographs donated to the Turchin Center’s permanent collection by the Warhol Foundation of the Visual Arts.

Vistiors to the Turchin Center had the opportunity to have their photos taken in the “silver room,” a corner of the Main Gallery made to look like Andy Warhol’s famous New York art loft, The Factory. Photo by Jeff Eason.

An estimated 800 art lovers turned out Friday night to see the new Andy Warhol photography exhibition at the Turchin Center in Boone. Photo by Jeff Eason.
