Books Needed for Christmas Project

Your books are needed. New books for children for the Christmas Project are being accepted at The Ashe County Public Library (located in Jefferson Station), Mc Donald's and the Ashe County Partnership for Children office in Family Central. Each has a box available for your donations.

Children from age birth - 18 are served by this book drive, which works in conjunction with the Ashe County Children's Christmas project. Any sort of new book is needed. Perhaps you have a favorite book from childhood you'd like to share. Or perhaps you just want to spread the joy of reading for children who may not have a book in their home, and who often do without the things most others consider a normal part of life.

Books for teens are not as often donated as books for younger children, but the project serves them all. If you would like to consider a book for a teen, a list of suggestions is provided here. These are just ideas - any book you'd like to contribute is welcome.

Please help the Ashe County Children's Christmas Project book drive collect enough books to provide at least one to each of the 900 children expected to be served this year.

Older Children and Teen Book Ideas
If you might be wondering what sorts of books and titles/authors would make good books for older children and teens, the following suggestions are made by the Children's Librarian at Ashe County Public Library and the Media Coordinator at Ashe County High School.
