Municipal Field Trip

The ½ Multi-age classes from Two Rivers Community School have been studying what makes up a community and had the opportunity to take a field trip to downtown Boone in late October.

They got a firsthand look at places in Boone that provide goods and services, as they met the mayor, Loretta Clawson, toured the Boone Fire Department, the Watauga County Courthouse and Mast General Store. The students also were able to visit a place of interest in the community when they toured the Jones House Community Center. Lunch was provided by Tupelos World Café and featured food from around the world.

“Not only did the students gain a better understanding of communities, but they also realized what knowledgeable and helpful people run and work in our community,” a town of Boone spokesperson said.
