Nutcracker Ballet returns to Ashe County for two shows Dec 13

Last year, The Conservatory of Dance & Theatre brought The Nutcracker to the Ashe Civic Center in West Jefferson with all shows being sold out. Two performances are scheduled for this year, on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Ashe Civic Center.

Jane Lonon, executive director of the Ashe County Arts Council, is delighted to welcome back the Conservatory to the Ashe Civic Center. "The productions of The Nutcracker last year were such dazzlers that we immediately invited Dr. Johnson to bring this ballet back to Ashe County in 2008," she said.

Tickets for the Ashe Civic Center performances will go on sale at the Ashe County Arts Council on Nov. 15. All seats are reserved. Contact the Arts Council at 336-846-2787 to purchase tickets for this performance or for more information.

The Conservatory of Dance & Theatre is committed to furthering the ballet art form. The company produces classic ballet programs that have been cited as "polished, eye-catching and delightful," and "highly entertaining and professional."

The Conservatory offers training programs for children and pre-professionals as well as classes in Broadway Jazz, Creative Movement, Pre-ballet and tap.

Tickets are now on sale at the Conservatory for the Galax performances of The Nutcracker. All seats are reserved. Adults are $12 and children 13 and under are $5. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. Call the Conservatory at (276) 236-2105 to reserve your seat.
