CD release party at Boone Saloon
Nov. 15
By Jeff Eason

Boone band Naked Gods will unveil
its debut album, Welcome Home, at a special CD release
party concert at the Boone Saloon this Saturday.
|
Saturday night will give area music lovers the perfect opportunity
to check out three of the areas most original bands, plus
take home a brand new album by one of them.
Boone band Naked Gods will host a CD release party for their
new album Welcome Home at the Boone Saloon on Saturday, November
15. The show starts at 10 p.m. and also features area acts The
Karloffs and Poplar Grove.
Naked Gods features area musicians Christopher Hutelmyer,
David Lazer, Seth Sullivan, Christian Whitfield Smith and Derek
Nicholas Wildcat.
With trademark jangle-y guitar riffs, clever pop-hooks and
sweet vocal harmonies, Naked Gods are on the cutting edge of
the High Country pop-rock scene. The bands song Slow
Dogs features psychedelic guitars, swirling organs, thumping
drums and even a little glockenspiel.
The heavier tune Mountain-Smashing Song of Joy
touches on territory familiar to new bands such as My Morning
Jacket and Austins Future Clouds and Radar.
With glorious pedal steel, backwards guitar leads and somber
soaring vocals, My Savior Lives is a more country-tinged
tune by Naked Gods.
Copies of Welcome Home will be available for sale at Saturdays
CD release party.
In addition to Saturdays show at the Boone Saloon, Naked
Gods will perform at the Dragonfly Theater on Tuesday, December
9 with area band Banana da Terra.
For more information on Saturdays show, call the Boone
Saloon at (828) 264-1811.
