Once playing for donations on the streets of Nashville
and later headlining the citys historic Ryman Auditorium,
Old Crow Medicine Show has come full circle playing its own brand
of American roots music with a rock n roll attitude.

The quintet will perform at Legends on the Appalachian State University
campus Dec. 3 at 10 p.m. Tickets are $22 for students in
advance and $25 for the public. Doors open at 9 p.m. Tickets
are available at the Plemmons Student Union Information Desk and

The members of Old Crow Medicine Show met in New York state. They
hit the road, traveling by van from city to city. They eventually
settled for a year in North Carolina, where they ran into good
fortune while playing in front of a local pharmacy in Boone to
an impressed Doc Watson. The folk icon promptly scheduled the
band to play at MerleFest.
Soon after, the band relocated to Nashville and found themselves
gracing the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, opening for Dolly Parton,
touring with Merle Haggard and regularly appearing on NPRs
A Prairie Home Companion.
Much of Old Crow Medicine Shows success derives from the
bands relentless touring schedule. Between headlining shows
and countless festivals (Bonnaroo, Telluride Bluegrass Festival,
New Orleans Jazz Festival and more), the group is constantly on
the road and thrives on its fans and live shows.
Old Crow Medicine Shows members Critter Fuqua, Kevin
Hayes, Morgan Jahnig, Ketch Secor and Willie Watson have
made a name for themselves as energetic performers with an infectious
spirit. Not only have they enjoyed success in North America,
including appearances on Late Night with Conan OBrien,
the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade and the soundtrack for
the Oscar-nominated film Transamerica, the band also
has toured the United Kingdom several times. Highlights there
include an appearance on the BBCs Later with Jools
Holland and the Cambridge Folk Festival.
The concert is a BYOB event with a 6-pack or 72-ounce limit.
