International holidays celebrated Dec. 5 at ASU

Student organizations at Appalachian State University will host a celebration of international holidays Dec. 5 from 6-8 p.m. in Plemmons Student Union’s Grandfather Mountain Ballroom. The public is invited.

Admission to the event dubbed “Find Yosef a Holiday” is free, however, canned goods will be collected at the door for the Hunger and Health Coalition and the Hospitality House of Boone.

The multicultural program will feature educational displays about various holidays celebrated around the world. Displays will include information about the meaning of the holiday, who celebrates it, where it is celebrated, how it is celebrated and other important information. Many participating groups will include activities, food and other creative representations of the cultures and holidays at their table.

The event is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Student Development at Appalachian.
