Tarleton asks Easley for kerosene relief

State Rep.Cullie Tarleton (D-93) announced he had written to N.C. Gov. Michael Easley to ask for his help in easing the kerosene shortage in North Carolina and especially in the High Country.

“The shortage of kerosene has driven the price in some cases will beyond $4 a gallon which has created a financial hardship for many families who still heat their home with kerosene,” Tarleton said.

“North Carolina is one of the top three kerosene consuming states in the nation and many of those consumers live in western North Carolina. We’ve got to increase the supply of kerosene which should help drive down the price to a more affordable level. I’ve asked the governor to use the influence of his office to get additional supplies of kerosene to our state and especially into my district.”
