Art Cellar features holiday open house

The Art Cellar Gallery in Banner Elk is offering a Holiday Open House Saturday, Dec. 6 from 2 – 4 p.m. Holiday refreshments will be served. During the Holiday Season The Art Cellar is featuring a selection of small art works designed for gift giving along with a collection of larger paintings and sculptures.

Regional potters will be represented with a great selection of works in clay from tumblers to large serving pieces.

Michael Kline, Shane Mickey, Tim Turner and other well-known potters from Avery, Mitchell and Yancey counties are included. Watercolorist Bryan Keith Smith has recently completed a beautiful collection of small paintings, which are beautifully framed and ready to hang and enjoy. Wood turners Rodger Nelson and Eckess Jones both have a selection of work available. Anvil Arts Studio has a selection of new small works in steel that give sculptural emphasis to small functional objects.

There will also be a selection of sculptural pieces by artists Pam Brewer, Bill Brown, Jane Jaskevich, and Nancy Livingston. We are pleased to present several new works on canvas by Gregory Smith, Lene Alston Casey, David Birmingham and paintings by still life painter Loren DiBenedetto, along with several others.

For the holidays, The Art Cellar Gallery & Frame Makers, will display a selection of small ready made frames which are perfect for giving and ready for the addition of a special photo or artwork.

Also, during the month of November there will be a 25 percent discount on all framing orders. The Art Cellar Gallery is located on N.C. 184 between Tynecastle and downtown Banner Elk, for information or directions call 828-898-5175 or visit the Web site, www.artcellaronline.com.
