The Watauga County Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold the following blood drives in the coming weeks:

•Friday, Dec. 5, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Watauga County Library, at 140 Queen St., Boone. For more information, contact the reference desk at (828) 264-8784.

•Tuesday, Dec. 30, from 12:30 to 6 p.m. there will be a Watauga High School Memorial Drive for Leigh Anne Cable at Greenway Baptist Church, 880 Greenway Road, Boone. For more information, contact Regina Alford at (828) 262- 1611 until Dec. 18, after that date call (828) 719-9658.

Long sleeve T-shirts will be given to presenting donors, and there will be a special regional drawing, “Give a Little Buy a Lot,” where donors can enter to win one of three $1,000 gift cards.
