Reward Offered for Missing Truck

Chief Brian Grogan of the West Jefferson Police Department announced that a reward is being offered for

anyone that can provide information about a tractor-trailer that was stolen in West Jefferson two months ago.

The reward of $1,000 is being offered by Carolina Casualty Insurance to "anyone with information leading to the recovery of the tractor and trailer."

According to a press release issued by Grogan, "on or about Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, someone took a tractor and trailer from the parking lot of the Ingles grocery store in West Jefferson. The truck is a 1999 Freightliner, white in color with a red stripe around the bottom.

"The trailer is a 2001 Utility 53 foot refrigerated trailer, white in color with chrome doors on the rear," he continued. Both the tractor and the trailer are owned by May Trucking of Mountain City, Tenn.

Anyone with any information related to the robbery, or the location of the tractor or trailer, can contact Lt. Detective Chris Welch of the West Jefferson Police Department at (336) 246-9410.
