to Cathy Groene, enjoyed the crowd during his wait for
a photo with Santa at the Watauga County Humane Society
fundraiser.
Santa posed with nearly 60 animals and countless humans this weekend
at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Valle Crucis. Santa Paws is an
annual fundraiser for the Watauga County Humane Society.
This year’s event, held Friday and Saturday, raised $635
for the organization, and saw the first rabbit to ever pose with
Santa.
Rachel Jolly served as the photographer for the event. In addition
to pets, Santa posed with several families who were shopping in
the store and took advantage of the opportunity.
Volunteers helping with Santa Paws were Bill Jolly (Santa), Dee
Dundon, Beth Brock, Claudia Strickland, Mahala Porth, Shawn Lundy,
Janet Pepin, Kathy Thomas, Mike Wilcox, and Mary Wood.
