Ruth Smith Concert Rescheduled CD release show for An Appalachian
Winter on December 19

Two of the High Countrys finest musical talents, Steve and
Ruth Smith, proudly celebrate the release of their latest CD,
An Appalachian Winter, with a one-night-only concert of Celtic
Appalachian sounds December 19 at 7:30pm, at the Hayes Performing
Arts Center, 152 Jamie Fort Road, in Blowing Rock.
Ruth, a classically trained musician and composer, discovered
in the hammered dulcimer a versatile instrument that fits her
personality and blends her musical heritage and interests. Steve
is a fingerstyle guitarist and Appalachian singer-songwriter who
has been performing with Ruth for more than 30 years across the
United States and around the world. Combining their individual
musical influences, Steve and Ruth play a blend of traditional
Appalachian, Celtic, Baroque and original music, including both
vocal and instrumental selections.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and are available
now by calling the Box Office at (828) 295-9627. You may pay by
credit card or by cash (in person). Tickets can also be purchased
online at www.HayesCenter.org by credit card. Special group rates
are also available. Season and Flex Passes can be purchased and
used throughout the entire 08 season.
