Gail Hampton and Mary
Timothy, recently retired ASU employees, are choosing
backpacks which they will fill with school supplies
and some gifts and toys. They were among volunteers
with the ASUs Staff Council who took part in a
Childrens Shopping Day program on Dec. 11. The
council had volunteers take some 88 financially disadvantaged
schoolchildren on a shopping spree, with an emphasis
on winter clothing. The council raised some $15,840
for the program. It also provided each child with a
new school backpack filled with school supplies. Photo
