Carlton Gallery to celebrate 2009 with art

26th Winter Exhibition features area artists

The year 2008 is now history, as the High Country embraces and welcomes 2009.

Among its resolutions for the New Year, Carlton Gallery wishes to include protecting and preserving the mountain environment, as well as appreciating and supporting the many local artists working in all media whose creative talents can make spirits soar.

Carlton Gallery extends a heartfelt thank you to all the friends, community members and art patrons whose support helped the gallery through a major move transition and an attention-grabbing economy.

“It is our hope that 2009 be filled with gratitude, economic stability and peace for our country and the world,” a gallery spokesperson said.

Carlton Gallery has a retinue of local artists and craftsmen working in oils, acrylics, watercolor, mixed media collage, sculpture, wood, glass, clay and fiber art. “To the many artists who are part of the Carlton Gallery Art Family, may 2009 be very creative, with your efforts and art work being highly praised and collected,” the spokesperson said.

The days of winter can be filled with art to lift one’s spirit and nourish the soul. Carlton Gallery’s eclectic collection of fine art from the many local and regional artists the gallery represents can enhance and brighten those winter days of solitude, tranquility and introspection. The ongoing 26th Winter Exhibition, which runs thru March 15, features landscapes in traditional and abstract styles, figurative paintings in oil on canvas, water color, and mixed media collage with many textures and styles.

“Visit Carlton Gallery to experience winter’s beauty through fine paintings and hand-crafted works of art by local and regional artists,” the spokesperson said. “Make a New Year’s resolution to appreciate and support the many environmentally conscious artists who use recycled materials, as well as those hard working artists who give so much of themselves to the community of the High Country.”
