Single-Car Accident Causes Delay

A single-car accident that occurred at 12:58 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, caused long delays for motorists on Big

Laurel Road in the Creston community. The accident occurred near Big Branch Road and, according to a report filed by W. P. Miller of the State Highway Patrol, the 16-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle due to the road conditions.

In Miller's report, he reported that the vehicle was traveling south on Big Laurel Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to ice on the roadway. The vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right and struck a guard rail, then spun around and overturned, colliding with the guardrail a second time."

Despite the severity of the damage done to the vehicle, the driver escaped the accident without any injuries.
