App Chorale’s rehearsals of Handel’s ‘Messiah’ begin Jan. 12

The Appalachian Chorale will begin rehearsals of Handel’s “Messiah” Jan. 12 in Broyhill Music Center’s room 214 at Appalachian State University.

Music director Joby Bell welcomes all interested singers. No audition is required.

Rehearsals will be held Monday evenings during the university’s academic semester, except during official breaks and holidays.

Rehearsals are from 7-9 p.m.

The concert will be presented April 28 at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center.

The Appalachian Chorale was founded in 1975 as the University Choral Society.

Former music directors include R. Carroll Stegall, Dennis Johnston, Clinton Parker, Robert Jones, Stephen Hopkins, Brian Bailey and Roosevelt Escalante.
