Free home weatherization course offered Jan. 8

Want to feel more comfy at home this winter?

Interested in saving money on heating costs?

If so, one may consider attending a free Home Weatherization class on Thursday, Jan. 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Agricultural Conference Center, 252 Poplar Grove Road, in Boone.

Participants will learn ways to make their home more comfy and energy efficient.

In addition, area residents have the opportunity to sign up to take part in a a subsidized energy audit research study.

The N.C. Cooperative Extension will receive funding from the State Energy Office to offer those with homes 2,000 square feet or less and five years or older home energy audits for a $100 cost to the homeowner.

Details about this program will be shared at the workshop.

Participation in the energy audit is not required for those attending the workshop.

The workshop is sponsored by the N.C. Cooperative Extension and Building Performance Engineering.
