Strangely, you can find some of the hottest music around during
the coldest part of the year. Thats when the Blowing Rock
Jazz Society holds its annual January Jam at the Meadowbrook
Inn. The event attracts some of the best jazz performers in
western North Carolina. It also raises needed funds for the
Appalachian State Jazz Studies Program.
This years January Jam is set for Sunday, January 11.
The show takes place at Meadowbrook Inn in Blowing Rock from
7 to 9 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for the general public and $5 for students
and seating is on a first come-first serve basis. Reservations
are recommended.
Meadowbrook Inn will be serving items from its dinner and
bar menu during the performance.
The January Jam will feature award-winning saxophone player
Todd Wright and a host of other musicians. The band will perform
a mix of jazz standards, Latin-infused tunes and modern pieces.
Dancing is encouraged.
This special Blowing Rock Jazz Society show is sponsored by
McDonalds of Boone and Blowing Rock, Blackberry Creek Mattress
Outlet, Rays Weather Center, Blowing Rock Realty, Gems
by Gemini and Mountain Times Publications.
