Former Boone resident Mark Schimick will make a return to the
High Country to celebrate the release of his latest album, Mark
Schimick Presents the Model T Time Machine. Schimick will perform
with a number of western North Carolina musicians at the Dragonfly
Theatre and Pub in Boone on Thursday, January 15. Admission
is $5 per person and the music starts at 10 p.m.
Performing with Schimick will be Darin Gentry on fiddle, Jon
Jon Davis on guitar, Brian Swenk on banjo and Kim France on
upright acoustic bass.
Schimick started performing with various bands around Boone
about a decade ago before becoming a permanent member of Larry
Keels band Natural Bridge four years ago. He, France,
Davis and Swenk are all former or current members of the popular
band Boss Hawg.
Schimick describes his new album as full of songs that are
musician and children friendly. His other recent
recording projects include working on Jon Jon Davis CD,
Airplane Ride, and the new Natural Bridge recording, Backwoods.
Schimick wrote several of Backwoods original tunes including
Swarming Bees and Ghost Driver.
