Jonathan Burton of Jonathan Burton Photography in Boone, was
honored for an exceptional photographic image, titled “Revenge
of the Babysitter,” entered in the Miller’s Professional
Imaging Baby & Child Contest. The portrait placed first
in the humorous category out of more than 10,000 entries coming
from professional photographers located throughout the United
States.
In addition to the award received by Jonathan Burton Photography,
a check in the amount of $2,000 was presented to Justin and
Jenny LeMasters, of Sparta, the parents of Mack, pictured in
the winning image.
To create this image, Burton needed a very cooperative, happy
and young child. He said, “Mack was the ideal subject,
being very tolerant, considering the awkward staging needed
to create the image. Mack may look mischievous in this photo,
but he really is such a great kid.”
 According
to representatives of Miller’s Professional Imaging, the
nation’s largest professional portrait and wedding lab
with headquarters in Pittsburg, Kan., images submitted to the
annual contest represent the finest in children’s photography.
Burton has been photographing children, families and weddings
for 17 years, winning numerous awards for his talent and photographic
quality. His work has also been featured in exclusive wedding
