Carlton Gallery: Open Your Heart to Art

Carlton Gallery invites the High Country to celebrate Valentine’s Day on the 14th, as well as the month of February with works of art that bring beauty, joy and humor into the home.

“February is the perfect time to express the love and affection in our hearts for those near and dear to us,” a gallery spokesperson said.

The collections at Carlton Gallery range from handcrafted jewelry in rubies, sapphires, tourmalines and aquamarines in 18-22 K gold and platinum; lustrous pearls, sterling silver semi-precious gemstones and multi-hued stones and beads.

The gallery is pleased to exhibit one-of-a- kind creations by talented designers Mia Katrin, Laura Fly, Don Haywood, Carol Francis Goode, Zoe Nelson, Channing Ayers, Ursula Shuler, Tana Acton, William Lynn Perry and Peter James. The original creations of necklaces, pendants, bracelets, rings and earrings in unique and contemporary designs are visually appealing and sure to please the most discriminating buyer.

Today’s collectors and buyers of fine art are educating themselves on the artists and their accomplishments, viewing an art piece many times before making a purchase. They are interested in the personal connections to the art work and find the answers from the artists fascinating. Carlton Gallery’s approach to collectors and buyers of fine art and fine jewelry is based on loyalty, listening and educating. The gallery wants to help collectors and buyers of art with valuing and acquiring art, as it is a personal and emotional purchase that will likely be in their possession through life.

Carlton Gallery continues its 27th Winter Exhibition through March 15, with an extensive collection by the standing gallery artists whose work varies in media, style, subject matter and technique. Traditional and impressionistic oils on canvas, abstract, mixed media collage, sculpture, blown glass, fine woodworking and pottery are some examples of the original works of art on exhibit at Carlton Gallery from the local, regional and international artists the gallery represents.

The gallery is located on N.C. 105 South, 10 miles south of Boone and 7 miles north of Linville. Winter hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 1 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday or by appointment.

Information about seasonal exhibitions and workshops can be found by calling (828) 963-4288 or visiting www.carltonartgallery.com.
