A few good tickets for A Few Good Men
Wilkes Playmakers’ tickets now on sale

Tickets are now on sale for Wilkes Playmakers production of “A Few Good Men,” directed by Lucas Matney.
Performances will be at Benton Hall, 300 D St., North Wilkesboro. Show dates are March 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. and March 22 and 29 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. This is the second show of Wilkes Playmakers’ 2009 season.Based on the popular movie by the same name starring Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon and Jack Nicholson, this powerful drama, written by Aaron Sorkin, deals with the trial of two U.S. Marines. They are charged with the death of one of their own in an illegal reprimand known secretly as “code red.”

When a young legal officer is brought on board to defend the men, his curiosity and, later, moral and legal ethics come into play as he discovers the true origin of the “code red” order. To order tickets, call (336) 838-7529 and leave a message, or order online at www.wilkesplaymakers.com . Tickets may also be purchased at the box office, which will open one hour prior to each performance. MasterCard and Visa are accepted.

Auditions for Wilkes Playmakers Outdoor productions of “Moonshine & Thunder – The Junior Johnson Story,” now in its third season, and “Tom Dooley – A Wilkes County Legend,” now in its ninth season, have been set for Monday, March 9, and Thursday, March 12, at 6 p.m. Auditonees may be a part of one of both productions.

To audition, prepare a brief monologue. It can be from a favorite show or movie. There will also be cold readings from the scripts. All roles are open.

“Moonshine and Thunder – The Junior Johnson will perform for one week, the last week of June, with “Tom Dooley – A Wilkes County Legend” performing for two weeks immediately after “Moonshine” closes. The three weeks of performances will be held at The Forest’s Edge Amphitheatre on U.S. 421 North in Wilkesboro.

Tickets go on sale for both of these shows on April 1.

For more information, call (336) 838-7529 and leave a message, or e-mail Wilkes Playmakers at playmaker@pcshome.net.
