Day for Dicus

Pepi Dicus, mother of Watauga High School baseball player Will Dicus, receives a hug and flowers from Pioneer pitcher John Sharpe during Senior Day festivities on Tuesday in Boone. Dicus has been battling Ewings Sarcoma (a bone cancer that primary affects teenagers) since he was 13-years old. His battle has been the subject of several local events as well as the impetus for the many “Pray for Dicus” bumper stickers featured on many local vehicles.
