Fares Artist of the Month. Photo submitted

Although artist Rachael Salmon is not a Boone native, after
14 years of living here, she may as well be.
Salmon will be the first to say that she thinks of Boone as
home, and one can see her love of the mountains
as a constant theme throughout her work.
Salmon was born in Canada and moved to Boone with her family
when she was 14. She is one of Earth Fares in-house artists,
having worked in the café for the past five years, and
if youre in Earth Fare its hard not to notice her
because she is constantly radiating positive energy through
her dynamic personality, a store spokesperson said.
Salmon currently lives in Zionville with her boyfriend, Phil,
and two dogs, Sequoia and Bella.
She takes every opportunity to pursue her art, and one can
often find her with a camera in her hand. She has recently started
working with watercolors, and she also makes artistic frames
out of natural materials.
It is eminently clear when looking at Salmons work that
she draws her inspiration directly from nature. From mountain
views to wildflowers to sunsets, she shares her view of the
world through her artwork. As a result, what becomes clear when
looking at the images shes captured or the things shes
created is that hers is a perspective full of wonder and joy.
Salmons artwork can be seen at Earth Fare, located at
178 W. King St. near downtown Boone.
