Looking Glass Gallery joins Darwin

Appalachian State University presents a juried exhibition,
Art & Evolution, A Darwin Bicentennial Exhibition, at the
Looking Glass Gallery in Plemmons Student Union on the ASU campus.
The exhibition will be on view through April 23. A reception
will be held March 26 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Looking Glass
Gallery. Works in this show are both 2D and 3D.
The gallery is presenting works from the following artists:
Abby Osinjolu, Abby Samelak, Alexandra Bradley, Amy Mescher,
Bernie Hendricks, Dianne Hodack, Jessie Jellicorse, Keri Chambers,
Rachael Haycrafy, Rebecca Farris, Sarah Duquette, Shannon Hunter,
Ashton Nichols and John Stephenson.
The works created for this exhibition are related to Charles
Darwin as a man, a scientist and educator. Works were submitted
for review by juror Julie Thomson, associate curator of education
at the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University. First-place
and runner-up prizes will be awarded.
This exhibition is made possible by Tabitha Perryman, curator
of the Looking Glass Gallery at ASU, Brook Bower, assistant
curator of the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts, Jody Servon,
assistant professor of art and curator of the Catherine Smith
Gallery, and Jenny Koehn of Student Programs.
