Area galleries join Blue Ridge Wine
and Food Festival
On the nights of April 16 and 17, Alta Vista Gallery in Valle
Crucis will feature wines from Shelton Vineyards.
The art gallery will be open both of those nights to feature
Shelton wines, as part of the Blue Ridge Wine and Food Festival.
Wine will be served at the gallery on April 16, from 5 to 7
p.m., and on April 17, from 5 to 8 p.m.
One of the artists represented by Alta Vista Gallery is Dotti
Shelton, co-owner of Shelton Vineyards. She is a highly-collected
palette-knife oil painter whose oils depict mountain landscapes
and vineyards.
The Alta Vista Gallery is located at 2839 Broadstone Road
in Valle Crucis. For more information, call (828) 963-5247 or
visit www.altavistagallery.com.
The public is invited to celebrate the Blue Ridge Wine and
Food Festival at Morning Star Gallery April 16-18 in Blowing
Rock.
In keeping with the gallerys tradition of specializing
in art and fine crafts hand made in America, Morning Star will
be offering samples of American made wine.
Gruet Winerys sparkling wine will be available for the
public to sample from 5:30 to 8 p.m. during the gallery stroll
on the evening of Friday, April 17.
As a special art offering, Morning Star Gallery will feature
acrylic paintings by Tracey Marshall, a regional artist, who
portrays the little pleasures of wine and friendship.
Marshall is an award-winning talent who has captured
in her paintings the joy of sharing wine with friends and marking
special occasions with wine, a gallery spokesperson said.
Visitors to the Morning Star Gallery will also see new art
collected for the exhibition, My Inner Child, as
well as giclees by area artist Wes Waugh. In addition to the
art, there will be a selection of blown glass wine goblets from
American glass artisans.
Morning Star Gallery is located at 257 Sunset Drive in Blowing
Rock. For more information, call (828) 295-6991.
