Earth Day Goodies

In honor of Earth Day and its commitment to the environment, Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation is giving environmentally themed gifts to all elementary schools in its service area: a reusable tote bag with the book “True Green Kids: 100 Things You Can Do to Save the Planet,” along with a “CFL Charlie Super Energy Saver” kit full of energy saving energy information that teaches children how to help save the environment through energy efficiency.

Kevin Norris, warehouse specialist, far left, and Susan Jones, Watauga district manager, far right, present donations in honor of Earth Day to interim librarian April Ervin and principal Phillip Griffin of Green Valley School.

Also included were compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) and other items promoting GreenSmart, Blue Ridge Electric’s family of energy efficiency programs for members.
