The Center for Appalachian Studies will present
An Appalachian Evening, a concert to raise money
for scholarships, on Thursday, April 30, on the Appalachian
State University campus.
The concert will be held in I.G. Greer Auditorium
at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for students.
An Appalachian Evening will honor Edward J. Cabbell,
Anne and Alex Bernhardt, and other contributors to the Doc Watson
Endowment for Appalachian Music.
Many accomplished local musicians will be featured
on the concert, including Beech Mountain Echoes, Laurel Creek
String Band, Lisa Baldwin and Dave Haney, The Sheets Family,
Toggle Mountain Rounders, Trish Kilby and Donavan Cain, and
the Watauga Yellowhammers.
Tickets are available at Appalachians Center
for Appalachian Studies located at 305 Bodenheimer Drive in
the Living Learning Center, Academic wing, room 109. In
addition, donations to student scholarships are welcome. Mail

The Center for Appalachian Studies is a unit
within Appalachians University College. University

education curriculum, academic support services, residential
