Its Time to Get Your Kicks SCORE Alliance Soccer camp scheduled
for June 26-27
By Mark Mitchell
Get ready to don those shorts and lace up those cleats
as its almost time for the SCORE Alliance Soccer Camp in
Boone. Available to boys and girls ages 5-10, the 2009 version
of the soccer camp will be held on June 26-27 at the Ted Mackorell
Soccer Complex in Boone. The camp is scheduled for the hours of
6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 26, and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on June
27. A family cookout will also be provided at 12 p.m. on June
27.
The cost of the two-day camp is $40, and participants will receive
a custom soccer jersey, a gear bag, a ball, socks and shorts in
addition to water and snacks. What will most importantly be provided,
however, will be top-notch coaching and instruction by coaches
and staff.
Heading up that coaching will be Toni Becvinovski, who brings
with him experience from the collegiate, youth and professional
levels. Becvinovski has played soccer since the age of two and
coached classic U/10 to U/15 teams since the age of 16 in Melbourne,
Australia. Becvinovski has also played on a semi-professional
and on a professional level for Melbourne City, Green Gully Ajax
and Fitzroy City in Australia.
The camps head coach competed as a player at Glendale College
and at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Becvinovski
will be assisted by several current and former Watauga High School
players, along with several members of the High Country Soccer
Association.
The SCORE Alliance Soccer Camp is intended for young, enthusiastic
players who want to learn in a fun and dynamic training environment.
The sessions are tailored to the developmental age and skill level
of each player.
