Story by Jerry Sena
Mountain Music Jamboree and Buffet is a great place to stop by on
the weekends for an evening of entertainment and great buffet of country
cooking.
The Jamboree is just a short drive up N.C. Hwy. 16 from West Jefferson,

Dick and Linda Copus, formerly of Greenfield Restaurant and currently
of The Winners Circle and The Ships Wheel restaurants,
have joined forces with Arvill Scott of Mountain Music Jamboree to
serve up a new combination that is sure to please.
We are using the abundant talent we have here in the area and
combined the great food and buffet like was served at Greenfield.
Its a great atmosphere of fun, friends and music a great
place to meet people and have a good time, Scott explained.
Scott said Mountain Music Jamboree, which opened in 2002, has had
visitors from 31 countries and about 30 states. Their Friday night
buffet and music features acoustic music and concert style entertainment.
Frequent performers include Wayne Henderson and Jeff Little, and the
styles can range from classic country to oldies to bluegrass bands.
On Saturdays, the Jamboree continues with the buffet nights and a
traditional good time.
Scott said that people of all ages come out and enjoy the evenings
at Mountain Music Jamboree and Buffet.
We have all ages of people coming out and groups from everywhere
come and enjoy the music and food. Dancing of all styles is available
on the dance floor and well even do square dancing if people
want us to do that. We have a good lineup of musicians this year and
it is a great time of clean family fun and we just want everyone to
come out, he said. Its a place where grandparents
can come and enjoy playing with their grandkids. We had a group from
Raleigh come and they said they wished there was a place in Raleigh
like that.
Scott is usually the host and MC at Mountain Music Jamboree and Buffet.
I try to make everybody feel welcome and comfortable. We have
extremely talented folks in and around this area. I have never seen
this kind of talent and the abundance of it like we have here. We
always try to have the music of our area featured, Scott noted.
