Award Winning Service Since 1969
Ski French-Swiss specializes in one call arrangements for groups coming to the North Carolina mountains. Hundreds of church groups, scouts and social organizations trust French-Swiss to make their skiing and snowboarding arrangements. If you are considering a winter sports trip for your group, give French-Swiss a call.

It is impressive to note that determined, well trained French-Swiss instructors have taught U.S. Army Green Beret Platoons, U.S. Navy Seals, West Point Instructors, U.S. Marines and Secret Service Agents. They have taught

thousands of handicapped athletes in Special Olympic programs and

countless new skiers and snowboarders from the deep south who had never before seen snow. And it’s all done in an easy going, cheerful way that takes for granted that everybody can learn to ski.

Jim Cottrell, President of the French-Swiss Ski College, has won numerous awards for his contributions to ski instruction, including the “Distinguished Alumni Award” from Appalachian State University. The underlying philosophies that have made French-Swiss so successful are to make skiing and snowboarding affordable and easy to learn.

Why Take Ski Lessons?
A very high percentage of people who try skiing once never return. They try it on their own, or with the help of their friends, they are not successful and never return.

For the average person it takes 3 times to be comfortable and in control on the more difficult terrain. Taking a series of 3 lessons (not one) will give you a skill for life.

The first lesson gets you into balance so you don’t fall as much and you get familiar with sliding while staying on your feet. The second lesson is to make the transition to intermediate terrain and the third lesson gets you comfortable and confident on intermediate terrain.

The joy of skiing really starts when you can turn and ski in control on intermediate terrain. Guidance and coaching from a trained professional instructor makes the goal much easier to accomplish. It costs a little more but it is worth it.

Snow skiing is a sport for everyone. You are never too old or too young to learn to ski. The sport combines the beauty of the mountains, the friendly and festive atmosphere of people enjoying a holiday, plus the joy, thrill and excitement of winter sports.

Instruction and guidance will help you ski or ride with greater control and confidence. Positive feedback from professional instructors will improve performance and the better you ski or ride the more FUN you have.
